I think, therefore I sing or The Praise of Cognitive Belcanto
Kirk Publishing, 2018 – second, revised edition Le Lys Bleu Éditions, 2023
Part memoir, part vocal‑technique manual, I think, therefore I sing tells how Mariam Sarkissian rebuilt her voice after a serious car accident and gradually developed the Sarkissian Method®, the first explicitly cognitive bel canto approach. Mixing personal story, historical references and practical exercises, the book introduces the Balance Triangle® and offers singers and speakers a clear mental map to organise breath, timbre, articulation and imagination.

In Search of B Flat. Synesthetic Notebooks of a Singing Teacher
Le Lys Bleu Éditions, 2025 (print) – 2026 (digital edition)
In Search of B Flat is a collection of synaesthetic notebooks in which childhood memories, colours, sounds and the mysterious note B‑flat weave together into a poetic self‑portrait. Between Armenia, Moscow and Paris, Mariam Sarkissian explores how an inner “B‑flat” can become both a musical anchoring point and a mental compass, revealing the intimate links between trauma, recovery, creativity and the cognitive principles behind her vocal work and the Balance Triangle®.

The Singers – A One‑Act Comedy
Le Lys Bleu Éditions, 2023
The Singers is a one‑act comedy set in the eccentric Paris studio of Madame Suzanne, a once‑famous diva turned voice teacher, where young opera singers gather for a collective lesson. Through absurd exercises, confessions and chaotic visits, the soprano, tenor and baritone sing very little but reveal a great deal: the play gently satirises the world of opera training while showing how technique, ego and vulnerability collide every day in the studio.
